The legendary Catalina's Jazz Club on Sunset in L.A. will proudly present the iconic jazz guitarist Kenny Burrell and his Quintet of virtuos0 instrumentalist...Tom Ranier -piano, Clayton Cameron - drums, Roberto Miranda - Bass, and the new young saxophone sensation Tivon Pennicott - Reeds.

Ethnomu188
This is my first post to my blog account. Setup was pretty easy after following the youtube instructional video. I have been apprehensive about joining any social media platform because i felt it might be too time consuming. But since enrolling in a couple of exciting HASOM courses my interest has grown, it really is a way to access information and share ideas with a diverse community. Not to mention this is a required assignment for my ethnomusicology 188 class...i guess i just needed some real impetus to get involved. Anyway, this ethno188 class is one in a trilogy of courses offered only @ HASOM until the heading of Internet Marketing and Publishing for Musicians; the others focus on music journalism, and videography, real cool stuff.
In my TweetDeck account i setup several new search columns. As of now I have not setup any groups or list columns. The ones that I set up are Jazz, because that is my musical interest and I would like to get more info on jazz events and musicians; i had to rename the Jazz column to jazz music because i was recieving lots of updates of the Utah Jazz basketball games, it was cool though. I also have a column for Wholistic Health, because my wife is a massage therapist and student acupuncturist working toward her doctorate degree in wholistic medicine; i enjoy all the benefits of her health consciousness. My Thesis column was setup because I would like to get encouragement and feed back from the experiences of others working on their Masters Thesis, it is a good way to network with like minded folk, hey we're all in this together. I am follwing some news groups like CNN, Democracy Now to keep abreast on world news, particularly regarding the Haiti Earthquake relief efforts. The other search group i have is Grammys. just to find out what people are saying about the up and coming event.
After i learn more about what i am doing in Tweetdeck, Blogger, and other social media platforms i am learning in ethno 188, I intend to use tweetdeck account to promote events, artists projects within the HASOM community in addition to the promotion of my our artistic projects and those of my musician friends trying to get the word out. In the meantime i am just having fun. Anyway, time to work on that thesis outline.
